We are in conversation with the CEO of Success Technologies, Parag Dave who shares with us his journey so far, his success mantra and how he’s been the pioneer in introducing new technologies in various industries.
What’s the secret behind your success?
I believe in hard work. When an individual is passionate, he/she is able to achieve great heights. My biggest support and strength has been my team, who has worked around the clock without caring if it’s day or night. To transform a dream into reality, a determined and dedicated team is very important.
How did you began your journey?
It all began in 2013. At that time, we were mostly dependent on imports but we were facing a lot of challenges. We were unable to reach where we wanted to. We realised that if we follow the same path, we won’t be able to carve a niche in the market. So, we changed gears and entered into manufacturing. After analysing the market and understanding the needs of the customer, we started developing customised routers. Thereafter, we expanded into lasers, marking machines and plasma.
You have just exported your machine to the United States of America. How does it feel?
Our first export was to Kenya in 2014. Gradually, our machines were exported to Nepal and several other South-African countries like Zambia. The team from the US had come to India for a week when they got to know about us through a reference. They visited several companies here but were unable to find a company that customised machines. That’s when we came into the picture. We showed them quite a few samples and according to their needs, we developed machines for them. We’ve already exported two machines and the third one is on its way.
Have you faced any challenges due to the implementation of GST?
When changes are introduced , it takes time to understand them. Before GST, there was excise tax. Now, its 18% under GST.
What are some of the machines that you are showcasing at this Media expo 2019?
We have developed a router with a camera that is on display at this expo. It helps in cutting any printed material based on the outline. You must have come across these cut-outs of celebrities outside shops. This machine increases efficiency and can produce hundreds of cut-outs in a short span of time.
We have also introduced a lot of machines for the first time in India like laser with a camera or plasma with a square and round pipe cutting technology.
What will you be showcasing at the Wood Ex-Asia 2019 ?
We will be displaying a turning lathe for woo industry and other machines like CNC routers with camera etc.
What are your plans for the next five years?
We are thinking about developing machines with fiber-cutting technology. We are also planning to venture into water jet cutting industry since there are less Indian manufacturers there.
Where part of India is biggest market for you ?
I feel technology is everywhere and so are our products. Our stone router used in the stone industry is popular in Rajasthan and laser is popular across India.
What are some of the changes you are witnessing in the industry today?
Wherever I go, I see innovation. For example, what we saw at this expo two years ago is outdated now. Be it printing technology, routers or lasers, every year new machines are entering the market. One has to to adapt accordingly to stay relevant in the market. Since 2013, our company has seen immense growth and we plan to keep it that way.
